Some of the early reviews for this shaver do seem questionable. But IMO, they do not exaggerate one bit. I own this shaver and this is the BEST shaver I have ever used. This is my 5th Panasonic shaver. Shaves very close - no burn. The shaver is also Made in Japan (HydraClean unit is Made in China) and the build quality is second to none - well, may be to my older ES8066K.
It comes with a case - not a hard case, but not a pouch either. Also, the black face on the front is not totally black - it has a black marble (like a granite table top) accent.
