Lowest Price Panasonic ES8249K Arc IV Nano Vortex Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaving System, Black

I've used a Panasonic ES8065 razor for almost 10 years. I remember thinking at the time that I must be crazy to spend about $80 for a razor. But after all these years, it still works, except now it won't hold a charge overnight. It was about time to replace the blades and foil again so I thought I'd put that money towards a new razor.

After doing some research I decided to up the ante again but was less hesitant because I know how good Panasonic razors are now. I went from the 3-head to the ES8249K 4-head. I wasn't too excited about the cleaning system because my old Panasonic always cleaned up well with water and never smelled. But for a couple bucks over the razor-only version I figured, what the heck.

The first thing I noticed was it's lighter than my old razor. The ES8065 was like a brick, very sturdy, with a solid feel. This one feels more delicate and has more moving parts. My old razor used an inductive charger where this one uses contacts. My main concern was not having to actually plug a cord into an appliance near a sink. Both methods work the same, just place it in the holder and walk away.

I charged it up and from the very first shave I knew I made a good purchase. I'm guessing my skin is already used to this type of razor because I got a very close shave right away. I get a complete shave in about 3 minutes. I've found that I get the best results with about 2 minutes spent going up and down and then spend about a minute making circular motions to get real close.

The cleaner is new to me. Yeah, it makes a little noise while cleaning but so what, I'm not there to hear it. It kind of sounds like a Water-Pik but not as loud. It pumps the solution into the stand and alternates from soaking to washing. The strange part is the lights flash CONSTANTLY while the razor is in the stand. Every second, the base will flash and then the razor will flash, back and forth until you remove the razor. Definitely not EnergyStar complient!

I bought a 3 pak of cleaning solution with the razor so I'll see if it's worth it in the long run. I'm thinking after some time that whole system is going to get pretty cruddy but we'll see. For now, I'm enjoying the time I'm not manually cleaning my razor.

I'll try to update this review if I discover any shortcomings with the ES9249k in the near future, but so far I'm a happy customer.Get more detail about Panasonic ES8249K Arc IV Nano Vortex Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaving System, Black.
